As we all know, the charging pile is a charging facility for "refueling" electric vehicles. The scientific name is "non-vehicle charger". Charging piles are divided into AC charging piles and DC charging piles. What is the difference between AC piles and DC piles?
First, what is the charging pile
The charging pile is similar in function to the tanker inside the gas station. It can be fixed on the ground or wall, installed in public buildings (public buildings, shopping malls, public parking lots, etc.) and residential parking lots or charging stations. It can be based on different voltage levels. Charge all types of electric vehicles. The input end of the charging post is directly connected to the AC grid, and the output end is equipped with a charging plug for charging the electric vehicle.
Charging piles are currently divided into AC charging piles and DC charging piles. The AC pile output single-phase/three-phase AC power is converted into DC power by the vehicle charger to charge the vehicle battery. The power is generally small (7kw, 22kw, 40kw, etc.), and the charging speed is generally slow, so it is generally installed in the parking lot of the community. Ground.

DC charging piles (or non-vehicle chargers) directly output DC power to the car battery for charging, the power is large (60kw, 120kw, 200kw or even higher), the charging speed is faster, so it is generally installed next to the highway. charging station.

Then how do you judge from the appearance of the pile whether a pile is a DC pile or an AC pile?
Generally speaking, the DC charging pile type is relatively rough (since there are a certain number of AC-DC power modules inside, the higher the power, the larger the number of modules, the larger the pile), and the AC charging pile is relatively small. The more obvious difference is that the head (charging line) is different, the DC charging pile is a 9-wire plug, and the AC charging pile is a 7-wire plug.
Second, the charging line of the DC charging pile
Figure 3 DC charging diagram
As shown above, the DC charging pile output consists of 9 lines, which are:
l DC power line: DC+, DC-;
l Device ground wire: PE;
l charging communication line: S+, S-;
l Charging connection confirmation line: CC1, CC2;
l Low voltage auxiliary power supply line: A+, A-.
The DC charging pile is used to charge the electric vehicle through these 9 lines. The detailed charging process will be introduced in the following articles.
Third, AC charging pile charging line
As shown above, the AC charging post output consists of 7 lines, which are:
l AC power line: L1, L2, L3;
l Device ground wire: PE;
l center line: N;
l connection confirmation line: CC;
l Control boot line: CP.
The AC charging pile is used to charge the electric car through these 7 lines.
